Please note that the MT FWP Preference point system has changed:
Preference points for non- resident big game elk or deer license may be purchased July 1st – December 31st. You may only use that point the next year. You can no longer keep it for up to 3 years.
-
When purchasing a license in March you have an option to buy 1 preference point as a nonresident.
-
If you are hunting with a MT licensed outfitter you can now purchase 1 additional point with proof of a contract. You must have the outfitter information when applying.
-
This can give you a total of three preference points.
-
We highly recommend getting all 3 points. This will almost guarantee a successful draw.
“My wife and I recently met Luke and his wife, Kristin, on a Montana hunt. We had somewhat different needs for our hunt than what is typically required. We made several calls before contacting Luke who quickly suggested he could help us where others had declined. We felt he was extremely honest and up front through our planning process and continued such until our hunt was done (and successful!). We had the opportunity to spend considerable time with Luke and Kristin andfound them to be very down to earth, genuinely nice folks, and enjoyed their company. While we never did see his actual camp on this hunt, we can say with certainty that we hope to see it in the future and they are great and honest folks. Luke will do his best to ensure your hunt is the best it can be! We left feeling like we had made new friends more than we felt we had just done business together!
